Another Huge Success!

27 November 2007 | Annual Christmas Fair, Past events
The 6th Annual Christmas Fair at the Titanic, Salou, was once again declared a huge success. This year the doors were opened at 10 am, but people had already been waiting since 9am!  It was a tremendous day with a great atmosphere and probably the best overall Fair to date.  The event was offically opened at 11.30 am by the Alcalde (Mayor) of Salou, Sr. Antonio Banyeres Sabras.

The Titanic was transformed into a magical place, with Santa Claus and Merry Christmas in their grotto, where the children received a gift and their photo.  There were stands with home-made produce, artesan goods, books and CDs, White Elephant, good as new clothes, toys, a tombola, and many, many more.  The raffle was, as always, incredible with over 100 prizes.  Local bar owners cooked hot food for lunch in O’Brian’s at the side of the Titanic. Particular thanks to the following for donating the food:  Carnicas Filliat,  Can Vincenç Carnes Palau, Fast Hamburger, J & G, Pepsi.

Any unclaimed raffle prizes can be collected from La Sirena shoe shop
on c/Barcelona, but we will put a list on the website when completed.

The initial figures show a total of 9,000 Euros, but we are still counting, so watch this space.  All the proceeds will be donated to the cancer charities we support.

Many thanks to everyone who helped set up the fair, and who came along on Monday to clear up.  Special thanks to all who donated so generously and to those who spent so much of their valuable time making cakes, jams, jewellery, artesan goods, etc.  Without all you wonderful people the Christmas Fair could not be a reality.

Thanks once again and have a wonderful Christmas!

All the best.
