Another fabulous event!! Over €10,000 euros raised and still counting sponsorship money.

The participation in the 5th Freesia Group Family Fun Run 2009 surpassed all expectations. There were over 750 runners in the 10km and 4km races which included serious athletes, many from athletic clubs, amateur runners just out to have fun,  some in fancy dress, some with their dogs, lots of kids, parents with babies in push-chairs and even a team on roller skates.  Everyone was out to have a “Fun Day”.  

The weather was perfect - bright sunshine and blue skies  - and the atmosphere was terrific.

A huge thank you to Natalia Rodriguez, famous Spanish Olympic runner and William Miller, film and TV actor, who presented the trophies at the end of the races.  Many thanks, of course, to the Salou Ayuntamiento and Sports Assocation, the local police, and all our sponsors, donors,  and helpers from local businesses without whom the event could not have been a reality.  Thanks also to all the volunteers who helped on the day and gave up their time before the event.  Thanks to Victor for doing the photos and Angie and Victor for compering the event.  Particular thanks to the Freesia Group president, Elaine McParland, for her tireless efforts and sleepless nights and vice president Paul Davies for all their hard work in setting up the event.
