International Cook-up
On Sunday evening, 9th September, 2007, Anneke and Eeke (representing Holland), Val Eves (representing the British Commonwealth), Jill Rasmussen (Australia), and Jennifer Struthers helped Altafulla celebrate its annual Fiesta de las Culturas. It was a great fun event being a high quality international cook-up. This year there was also a show of music and dancing from Chile. Several other countries also produced samples of their typical food. Over 400 euros was raised for Freesia, which was not bad for two days cooking which sold out in an hour and a half! A big thank you to all the helpers! Well done!
On Saturday 21st July, Adelaida organised an
International Cook-up In Torredembarra - mainly South and Central America, but Great
Britain was represented by Val and Jennifer with Dutch help from Anneke
and Eeke. We sold out of our 105 portions of delicacies such as
sausage rolls, bacon and egg pie and trifle. Two delicious cakes
were donated by Judy Noble and Jill Rasmussen. During the evening
there was a fantastic show of South American music and dancing.
An excellent time was had by all and sundry and Freesia’s funds were
modestly increased by €105.10. Put it in your diary for next year!
