Freesia Group Financial Situation March 2009.

We have raised some 150,000 Euros since the group began.

Massive thanks to all those wonderful people who sacrificed their valuable time during the year to organise events and raise funds for Freesia.  As you know, every cent is divided between the cancer charities in Spain that we support.

Kay’s Bonfire Night Party 5th November 2007
In total 581 Euros was raised which was donated to the Freesia Group. A huge thanks to Kay &  Willie from the George & Dragon and Knabbel & Babbel respectively.  There was a great turnout.  Many thanks to all who supported the event by turning up, the helpers, and the generous suppliers who donated the food & drink:

Funds raised at Christmas events 2006

At the Christmas Fair in Altafulla 2006 Jennifer raised €207.50.  Special thanks to Angie and Val Eves for all their hard work, and Ank Smit for thinking of the Lucky Dip Bran Tub, which the local people were enthralled by.  Helen also raised €60 at the Parc de Nadal in Alforja.  At the car boot sale in El Perelló €104.29 was raised.  Thanks to you all for your splendid efforts.

The Freesia Group would like to thank everyone at Christy’s Irish Pub for their generosity in donating the magnificent sum of €1,115.20 to the Freesia Group.  This amount  was part of the proceeds from the entertainment evening and talent contest organised last Saturday evening, 14th October. The money will be divided between the two cancer organisations supported by the Freesia Group: the CNIO (National Cancer Research Centre) and the Tarragona province branch of the AECC (Spanish Association Against Cancer).
We greatly appreciate your fund-raising efforts.  Thank you once again for your support.  Every euro makes a vital difference.

Gran Cena de la Comunidad del edificio Penthatlón, Salou.

Con el conjunto musical Banda Sonora. El presidente de la comunidad, Sr Jesús Casanova, y los organizadoras del evento quieren agradecer a todos los colaboradoras que les ayudaron celebrar una noche muy exitosa. En particular, gracias al personal del Restaurante The Boat House para la cena. Durante el evento se recaudaron la cantidad de 500 Euros, la cual se presentaron al Grupo Freesia (Luchando contra el Cáncer) para repartir entre las dos asociaciones contra el cáncer que apoyan – la AECC (Tarragona) y el CNIO (Madrid).

3th July 2006. Elaine, Kendal and Pam attended the Barcelona Metropolitan magazine summer party. It was a really lovely outdoor event, held at a smart location just near Plaza España (with the illuminated fountains in the background).   The Barcelona Metropolitan staff had suggested that we, from the Freesia Group, do a raffle during the event. They had very kindly set it up and provided the prizes, which they had obtained from different sources. In all we raised a total of 267.68 euros.

6th March 2006. Many thanks to Beverley Burgess for her generous donation of €50 from the proceeds of her jewellery sales during 24th and 25th March at Danny Boy. The money will be divided between the two cancer charities supported by the Freesia Group.

19th March 2006 To the organisers, helpers and supporters of the Annual Jumble Sale.

2005 Special thanks to the Connect Bar in Salou who kindly donated €30. Also, the Salou Scene, who donated €175, which was raised by organizing a competition. As a result of our autumn activities (Annual Christmas Fair, Bonfire Night party, etc) the Freesia Group was able to transfer 9,400 euros to the two charities we support.

Between December 2002 and December 2006 a total of €77,000 was raised by the Freesia Group and transferred to the CNIO (Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Oncológicas) and the AECC (Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer).

Included in this amount €2,595 was donated to the AECC, being money raised by the collecting boxes distributed by the Freesia Group in different venues.
